![]() Thanks for talking about it.If you have any questions or comments you can call me on my 800 number listed on my website (deleted link to commercial site.) or email me at or just return here. It should be used in conjunction with the real bat in all drills and BP, not alone. It works very well helping kids understand what a good swing actually does. Then a college coach who saw my team with using them around the cage at practice wanted to buy four. The first year I just played with it, trying to make it better and giving them to my coach friends. I teach that you swing with your body, not your arms, starting from the ground up. It gives instant feedback for the next swing. It also requires getting on plane, lag, and a lot of body torque. If the hitter hitches, loops, or casts they have no chance to hit the ball with authority. To square up a ball, either off the tee or pitched, the hitter must be "connected." This is why I invented it in the first place 3 years ago for a 16 year old on my select team who was incredibly disconnected. For 90 you get a rope with a sponge on one end and some heat-shrink with cheap numbers stenciled on it. The Rope Bat tells the hitter everything they need to know about their swing. This is explained on my website in the instructional video. It should be at least 2 or 3 inches shorter than the real bat. It is critical that the Rope Bat is not too long. This training device will actually force your hitters to stay connected through the swing while staying inside the baseball. The Rope Bat is a fantastic teaching tool for coaches and a fun way for players to improve their swing. The bat head is designed to be located where the sweet spot of the real bat is.and it is the approximate size of the sweet spot. Coaches, Parents and Players Agree The Rope Bat® Works. Hello, this is Gary Long, inventor of the Rope Bat.
